Listen to three award-winning songwriters who have songs currently on the charts and on rotation on radio stations both here in Australia and in the US on how they craft the perfect song to reach new heights. Our speakers will talk about songwriting basics, co-writing, songwriting challenges, awards and getting your songs on the charts. They will also tell you about the inspiration behind their most popular/awarded songs and how they came to write them and will be able to give your songs a critique on the night so bring an instrument if you're interested!

Lucie Tiger:

Lucie Tiger likes to describe herself as a Southern-lovin' country singer-songwriter with a good ol' dose of Americana charm. Coming off a busy couple of years that included two USA tours, a double single in 2019 and EP in 2020, 2021 is shaping up to be a busy year. Lucie kicked off the year by winning the award for Best Country Blues Song at the Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards for her song 'Gasoline'. In February she released her first single for 2021, 'Found My Home' which received national high rotation airplay on radio in Australia and rocketed up to #1 on the metro AMRAP charts and #20 on the Music Network Country Radio charts. 'Found My Home' is also making a mark overseas in the US with over 60 stations spinning it on rotation and with the song "On Deck - Soon To Be Charting" on the Music Row charts (based in Nashville). A somewhat unique aspect to Lucie's music is that she is the sole songwriter for all of her original songs.

Andy Penkow:

Andy Penkow is an award-winning alternative Country Singer-Songwriter with a unique sound, chocolate smooth but powerful voice, steeped in honesty. Andy has worked with Australian Country Music Royalty, co-writing with multiple Golden Guitar- winning artists Lyn Bowtell, mentoring with Golden Guitar-winning duo Carter and Carter, and working closely with ARIA Charting artist Aly Cook. Andy's EP "Chasing the Sun" was produced by ARIA and Golden Guitar-winning producer and artist Shane Nicholson and was released on the 27 th of July 2020. Entering the official Country album iTunes Charts at #5 and all genres at #50. “Chasing the Sun” peaked at #12 on the Australian country radio airplay charts and #15 on the official Tasmanian top 40 charts. Chasing the Sun was also the #1 song requested on the Australian songwriter's show of June 2020. “Wildflowers” debuted at #8 on the Country Songs Top 40 Australian Airplay Chart, and #5 on the regional AMRAP charts.

The Violet Bard:

Angel, known by her stage name as The Violet Bard studied at JMC Academy and graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Songwriting. An avid lover of stories, old myths and tales, her musical style has morphed into its own unique genre that she calls Faerie Folk.
