Description
Mattie Slur launches his new album Abstract Daydream. He’ll be playing songs from it and 2020s Delicious Fictitious loud and proud. Joining him are two of Sydney’s finest in Twinkling Stars and Lord Esme.
Sydney Singer – Songwriter – Producer Mattie Slur started his musical journey in the early 90s fronting power pop guitar bands Purple Slur and Slur. The last 3 years he’s been on a while new journey, with a much more electronic sound and he has been bringing that to life live as essentially a one person band with programmed tracks and live guitar and synth. He is launching his second album, Abstract Daydream. The follow up to 2020s Delicious Fictitious, which has been on incredible ride. At 16 tracks it’s a strong body of work and the anticipation of its release is high. With lashings of 80s synth pop, Avant Garde and some loud screaming guitars, it’s a combination that will get you dancing with hooks that you can’t help but sing along to.
Sydney based 5-piece, Twinkling Stars, began life late in 2017 as the creative vehicle of singer/songwriter, Jacob JB Serra, and has been performing regularly since that time.  Drawing influence from grunge and jangle pop, the group’s sound also incorporates elements alt-country, spoken word, free jazz and minimalist drone.  The band is currently working on its debut album due for release later this year.
What do you get when you mix a guitarist who loves space rock, a bass player who is into metal, a keys player and vocalist whose love of Brit-Pop is unmistakable, and a drummer who is a jazz cat? Lord Esme!
