Description
Beryl
Bringing together intimate songwriting with vast indie folk instrumentation, Sydney-based band Beryl will be playing their debut show at Lazybones on Jan 17. Gabriela King and Alex Jasprizza will be joined on stage by band members Blain Cuneen, Oscar Henfrey and Josh Spolc to play a new set of melancholic songs.
romæo
Romæo creates experimental art-pop, reminiscent of several artists and sounds but bound to none. Drawing influence from FKA twigs, Charli XCX, and Jockstrap, romæo creates a dystopian landscape that is both enthralling and somewhat uncomfortable. With only two singles under her belt, romæo has impressed fans and industry, receiving rotation on FBi and SYN Radio, as well as plays on the js. Already, romæo has been awarded the Generations fellowship from Create NSW, Astral People and the Powerhouse Museum, recognising romæo’s talent as an artist and helping guide her in further honing her proficiency. romæo is joined by Lochie Earl, Matthew Lambert and Kiri.
Skinny Legions
Glenn Hopper is a musical experimenter with deep pop instincts and a spontaneous and poetic lyricism. The resultant Skinny Legions draws from a lineage of songwriters; from the 70’s greats (Bowie, Drake, Mitchell, King, Young etc.), to millennial heroes such as Neutral Milk Hotel, Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart and Aldous Harding. An alt-folk rarity of the inner-west music scene, each performance of Skinny Legions will refresh the first-time and returning listener.
